Doylestown Woman, 23, Critically Injured in Berks County Crash

Marley Stalker-Stempel, 23, was hit head on while driving her Honda Accord Friday morning outside of Kutztown.

A 23-year-old Doylestown woman was reported in critical condition after an accident near Kutztown Friday, several media outlets reported.

According to WFMZ, Marley Stalker-Stempel, 23, was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital after being trapped in her Honda Accord for 40 minutes before crews could get her out with the jaws of life. She was conscious and alert at the scene, but she complained of severe leg pain, officials told WFMZ.

The accident occurred shortly before 11 a.m. in Greenwhich Township, Berks County. Stalker-Stempel’s car was hit head on by a truck, WFMZ reported. State police told the network that speed appears to be a factor in the crash.

A man who was driving a few cars behind Stalker-Stempel told the Reading Eagle he cut the seatbelt from around her throat because she was choking when he went up to the vehicle. The eyewitness told the publication she said she was worried about missing work that day.
