Theft, Criminal Mischief Reported in Doylestown

A stolen debit card leads to more than $500 worth of charges, and a tire is reported slashed.

A debit card stolen from a Doylestown nursing home led to more than $500 in fraudulent purchases, according to police.

Doylestown Borough police officers are investigating the theft of a debit/check card from an apartment at Wesley Enhanced Living at Heritage Towers, according to police reports.

The theft happened sometime between Jan. 22 and Feb. 1, police said.

The stolen card was used to make 11 purchases totaling $528.09. The purchases were made between Feb. 1 and Feb. 4 in Warminster, Feasterville, and Philadelphia, police said.

In a separate incident, police are investigating an instance of criminal mischief.

A tire was slashed on a vehicle parked in the lot next to Ventresca’s on West State Street. Police said it happened on Thursday, Feb. 7.
