Dept. of Homeland Security to Discuss Cybersecurity at BCCC

"Stop. Think. Connect: Addressing the Cyber Issues that Affect Our Community" takes place Tuesday at the Newtown Campus.

The following is an announcement from Bucks County Community College:

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is coming to Bucks County Community College this Tuesday to educate the public about personal cybersecurity, or how to protect your data when you use the internet.

“Stop. Think. Connect: Addressing the Cyber Issues that Affect Our Community” takes place from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Gateway Auditorium of the college’s Newtown campus. It will be simulcast to the college’s Lower Bucks Campus in Bristol and Upper Bucks Campus in Perkasie. The event is free and open to the public.

Kristina Dorville of the National Cyber Security Division of the Department of Homeland Security will address security issues associated with using social media and sharing information online, as well as tips for staying safe when using the internet.

The event is sponsored by the college’s Data Awareness Action Team and the Bucks County Community College Foundation. The college is located at 275 Swamp Rd., Newtown, Pa., 18940.
