Child Luring Incidents Reported in Solebury, New Hope

Police say a white man in his 50s who was driving a full-sized white van approached several children in Solebury and New Hope.

Solebury Township police are looking for information regarding a man in a white van who approached several children in the North Point neighborhood Wednesday.

According to police, the man, described as a 50-year-old white male with grey hair, was driving a full-sized white van with a ladder on top. He approached several children in the North Point neighborhood and asked them to come over to the van so he could give them a basketball, police said.

Solebury police said New Hope Borough police also received a report of a similar subject in the Riverwoods neighborhood.

“We ask that if you see this person/vehicle to contact us at 911 or 215-348-7400. Please remind your children to that if they are approached by a stranger, RUN AWAY in an opposite direction. Run to a public location, to other adults, to a group of people, into a public building, store, etc. YELL for help,” Solebury Police wrote on their Facebook page.
