Car Window Smashed in Parking Lot

Thieves broke the glass to steal Coach bags from the vehicle parked at the gym.

Area police are warning people not to leave valuables in plain site inside their vehicles, after a recent break-in incident.

The rear window of a Ford Expedition was shattered Tuesday while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot of a health club on Edison Furlong Road, police said Wednesday.

Stolen from the car were a large black leather Coach bag, valued at $150, a smaller silver Coach purse, valued at $30, a pink Coach wallet valued at $75, and cash and several credit cards.

The incident happened around 8:45 p.m. Jan. 3 in the parking lot of a health club and gym in the 700 block of Edison Furlong Road, Doylestown Township police said. The Cornerstone Club is at 740 Edison Furlong.

Driving Under Influence of Alcohol, Drug Possession and related charges

On Jan. 4 at 2:00 a.m., the department investigated a one vehicle accident on Edison Furlong Road with a vehicle into a pole. Investigation determined that Eric Snow, 20, of Doylestown, had the odor of an alcoholic beverage about him. He failed to satisfactorily perform field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest. He provided blood samples for testing. A glass smoking device was seized in the ashtray of the vehicle. The above charges were filed before District Judge Mark Douple on 01/04/2012.

Retail Theft

On Jan. 2 at 6:35 p.m., the department was called to Redner’s Market, 1661 Easton Road for a report of retail theft. Investigation determined that Michael Iovine, 30, of Doylestown, had removed items of value. He was issued a summary citation for retail theft and released.
