Doylestown Twp Man Critical after Car Crashes Into Building

Police continued to investigate the scene hours after the crash happened around 10 a.m. Thursday.

Two Doylestown Township residents were injured Thursday in a car crash that left their vehicle crumpled against the side of a building.

Yakov Kamyshev, 79, and his wife, Inna, of the 1200 block of Almshouse Road, were taken to Abington Hospital after the crash, which happened shortly after 10 a.m.

Inna Kamyshev was released but Yakov Kamyshev remained hospitalized Thursday at Abington in critical condition, hospital spokeswoman Joanne DeLeo said.

Doylestown Township Det. Matt O’Connor said the crash happened at 10:08 a.m. Thursday.

Yakov Kamyshev was driving his black Toyota Scion on the access road in the parking lot of the Bucks County government office complex, O’Connor said.

Kamyshev was trying to turn left onto the main driveway of the complex, which includes the , when he hit Elizabeth Schluth, 69, of the 50 block of Twigkenham Dr., Richboro. O’Connor said Schluth was driving her 2011 Buick Opel on the main driveway of the complex when she was struck. The police said she was not injured in the crash.

The Kamyshevs’ car accelerated up the main drive, crossed Almshouse Road, and struck a stone building on the opposite side of the road, O’Connor said.

It remained there for hours Thursday as police surveyed the scene and reconstructed the accident.

O’Connor said the investigation is continuing; it is not clear at this time whether charges will be filed.
