Building Collapse Victim Released From Hospital

The 37-year-old victim was released a few days after the Jan. 9 collapse in the Heritage Center development off York Road.

The construction worker injured in a building collapse earlier this month in Buckingham Township is out of the hospital, the Intelligencer reported.

The newspaper reported the victim, identified as Edimar DeOliveira, 37, of Philadelphia, was released a few days after the Jan. 9 collapse in the Heritage Center development off York Road.

DeOliveira was trapped for an hour under the building after it collapsed. Emergency responders rescued him from the rubble and he was taken by helicopter to Temple University Hospital.

Buckingham Township Fire Marshal Jim Kettler said representatives from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating what caused the collapse.
