Buckingham Woman Pleads Not Guilty to Having Sex With Student

Jessica Streeper waived her arraignment on Tuesday.

By Alison Smith:

A Buckingham Township woman and Montgomery County teacher who is accused of having sex with a student has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Jessica Streeper, 33, waived her arraignment and pleaded not guilty Tuesday, The Times Herald reported. Streeper's formal arraignment had been set for Wednesday, The Times Herald said.

Streeper had been an eighth-grade math teacher at Eisenhower Middle School, Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman said in May, when charges that she had sex with a 14-year-old student were filed.

The Norristown Police Department on May 19 received an anonymous tip that an eighth-grade teacher at Eisenhower was involved in an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student, the District Attorney's Office said. Their subsequent investigation led them to Streeper's relationship with the student, police said.

Streeper and the boy communicated regularly by text message, and a forensic examination of the victim's phone showed that the messages were sexual in nature, the District Attorney's Office said.

On several occasions, Streeper picked the boy up at his Norristown home and they had sex in her car, police said. On multiple occasions she brought him to her Bucks County home, where they had sex.

Streeper faces charges of institutional sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, corruption of minors and related charges.

Streeper was released on non-monetary bail with the stipulation that she have no contact with children other than her own, The Times Herald said.
