Central Bucks Gymnasts at the Sun Devil Classic in Arizona!

Chandler, AZ. – Feb 21-23, 2014 – Central Bucks Gymnastics headed west to Chandler Arizona to compete against thirteen teams at the 2014 Sun Devil Classic Invitational.   The three-day event was hosted by the Men’s ASU Gymnastic team and was comprised of both boys and girls sessions.  CB’s Level 9 girls placed second overall out of ten teams while the level 10 girls from Central Bucks placed third overall out of eight teams. The level nine girls competed in session six which began at 2:30pm on Saturday.

13 year-old Gina Martino placed second All Around in her group with a 35.650. The Doylestown resident placed second overall for her Uneven Bars routine with a score of 9.3.   14 year-old Melissa Ginaldi was tied for third All Around with a 35.650. (B Division)   The Furlong native placed first on the Floor Exercise with a 9.25 and third on the Vault with a 9.275 Her teammate Savona Cerra placed fifth on the Floor with an 8.925 in the same division.  

15 year-old Mackenzie Kelly placed second All Around in her group with a 36.050.  The Doylestown local placed second on the Uneven Bars with a 9.25 and third on the Floor Exercise with a 9.125.  

15 year-old Emily Yost placed fifth in the All Around for her group with a 35.100. Emily’s best scores came on the Vault and the Floor where she earned a pair of nines.   Haleigh Clark out of Doylestown placed sixth overall in the same division with a 34.150. Haleigh’s best marks were on the Vault where she earned a 9.325 placing third and on the Floor where she earned a 9.1, good enough for fourth place. Juliann Terry from Pipersville placed seventh All Around in the same group while 15 year-old Arden Hudson placed second overall for her performance on the Beam where she scored a 9.325.  Alexandra Kothe from Newtown just missed the podium in fourth (8.9) for her Uneven Bars routine.

16 year-old Sarah Klapper out of Doylestown placed third All Around in the JR A division of level 9 with a 34.275.  Klapper placed second on the Vault (9.075) and third on the Uneven Bars with an 8.95.  Kirsten Einset placed first overall on the Vault with a 9.15 in the same group.

The level 10 girls closed out the evening at the Sun Devil Classic in Session 7 with the competition starting at 6pm.  Central Bucks Gymnasts earned third place in the Team Challenge led by Roxanne Trachtenberg who placed second All-Around in her group with an impressive score of a 37.000. The 17 year-old Doylestown native placed second in Vault, Uneven Bars and Balance Beam with a 9.55, a 9.325 and 9.225 respectively.  Warrington resident Valerie Rube placed third overall in the same group with a 36.125.  Rube Placed second on the Floor Exercise with a 9.4 and fourth on the Vault with a 9.375.

18 year-old Rebecca McKevitt placed fourth All-Around in the JR C division with a 36.425.  McKevitt placed first on the Balance Beam with a 9.4.  Abby Steere placed third overall on Vault with a 9.425 in the same division.

Central Bucks Gymnastics host’s the Jungle Jammin’ Invitational March 1st – 2nd at the Central Bucks School of Gymnastics and Dance located at 929 Easton Rd. in Doylestown, PA.
