CB Gymnasts in Pittsburgh for the Winter Face-Off Invitational!

Washington, PA. – Feb 15-16, 2014 – Central Bucks Gymnastics traveled to western Pennsylvania just outside of Pittsburgh for the 2014 Winter Face-Off Invitational.   The Meadowlands Gymnastic Training Center home of host team “Gym Dandy’s” invited eleven teams including Central Bucks across levels 7 – 10.

12 year –old Emma Silberman Placed first All-Around in the 12-14 year-old age group for level 9.   The New Hope resident placed first on the Uneven Bars (9.250), first on the Balance Beam (8.650) and third (9.225) for her Floor routine. 

Emma Mangiacapre placed third overall with her best finish coming on the Floor Exercise where she finished in first with a 9.325.  Sisters Gracie and Hannah Busch finished 4th and 5th respectively in the All-Around.  CB teammate Gina Martino shared the Uneven Bars podium with Hannah Busch as they tied for third with a score of 8.75.  Haley Zarrett placed second on Vault with a 9.3, second on Floor with a 9.275 and third on the Balance Beam (8.250).

In the 15 and over age group at Level 9 Mackenzie Kelly placed 2nd All-Around. The Doylestown local placed first on Vault with a 9.425 and first on the Uneven Bars with a 9.6.  15 year-old Arden Hudson placed second on the Uneven bars with a 9.2.  Emily Yost placed second on the Balance Beam with an 8.95.  Haleigh Clark just missed the podium on the Floor Exercise finishing in fourth with a 9.125.

The level 10 Central Bucks Gymnasts earned first place in the Team Challenge led by veteran Rebecca McKevitt who Placed first All-Around with a 36.35.  The 18 year-old Chalfont native Placed first in three of the four events with the following scores; Vault (9.525), Uneven Bars (8.650), Balance Beam (8.650) and Floor (9.525).

17-year-old Roxanne Trachtenberg placed third All-Around with her best results coming in Vault with a 9.475 finishing second, and on the Uneven Bars where she scored a 9.2 which was good enough for the top spot on the podium.

Abby Steere placed third on the Vault with a 9.325 and teammate Valerie Rube placed second on the Balance Beam with a 9.0.  Rube finished fifth All-Around at level 10.

At Level 8, in the 13-14 year-old division Emily Engeland finished 2nd All-Around with a 35.225.  Her best result was a first place finish for her Balance Beam routine where she earned a 9.3.  Engeland placed 3rd on the Floor Exercise with a 9.125.  Lindsey Miscio placed 4th All-Around for her age group, she made the podium on the Beam finishing in 3rd (9.1)  Francesca Gilich placed 3rd on the Vault with an 8.950.

In the 13-year-old age division of Level 7 Juliette Hopkins placed 1st All Around with 35.1   Her best results came on floor where she scored a 9.2 placing 2nd and vault with a 9.35 where she finished in third.  Hopkins also made the podium in third on the Balance Beam with an 8.15.  Isabella Guida placed 3rd All Around with a 34.825 in the same 13 year-old group.  She placed first on the Uneven Bars with an 8.75 and second on Balance Beam with an 8.25.

In the 9-10 year old division Emma Busch placed 5th All Around with a 34.25.  The Doylestown local made the podium in third for her floor exercise with a 9.075.  Mia Schnapf who is still recovering from a broken arm in the off season finished in 3rd on Balance beam with a 9.0 and her teammate Mackenzie Perry was just behind placing 4th on the Beam (8.9) despite a fall, The 10 year-old Doylestown local placed 2nd on floor with a 9.2.
