Josephine Drewicz, 88, Mother of Nine

Visitation will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home in Doylestown on Friday.

Josephine (Josie) P. Drewicz (nee Zyskowski) of Doylestown passed away on Monday, October 21 at Chandler Hall, Newtown. She was 88 years old.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, to the late Stanley and Sophie Wysocki Zyskowski, Josephine was a former resident of Collegeville and Norristown. In the past four years, she lived with her daughters who shared in her care and were fortunate to have her be a major part of their family.

Josie was a former member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and St. Eleanor Church of Collegeville where she was a prayer group member in each church. She was a wonderful homemaker for her husband and nine children (a true stay-at-home MOM) and assisted as a den mother when they were younger.

She loved to volunteer as a chaperone for her children and grandchildren's school trips (whether they wanted her to or not!) She was an avid bicyclist and world traveler who loved history and music. Josephine, a bakers daughter and professional cake decorator, was known by family and friends for making the best chocolate cake.

She loved to laugh and tell stories in great detail with family and friends. Her stories and laughter will be truly missed by all.

She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Drewicz, devoted mother of Mark (Barbara) Drewicz, Thomasina (Thomas) Bradbury, Damien (Joanne) Drewicz, Vincent (Patricia) Drewicz, Manon (Brad) Savage, Guy (Suzanne) Drewicz, John (Lisa) Drewicz, Grace (Bill) Lennon, and Michaela (Chris) Urie, dear sister of Raymond and Leonard Zyskowski, and the late Stella Sladinski, Helen Letanski, Genny Sidloski and Joseph Zyskowski. She is also survived by twenty three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Gert Zyskowski and her best friend, Florence Brady.

Visitation will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown 18901 on Friday, October 25th from 6-8 pm.

A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 5175 Cold Spring Creamery Road, Doylestown 18902 on Saturday, October 26th at 11 am. The family will receive their friends from 10-11 am at the church prior to mass.

Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Warrington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Alzheimers Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106 would be appreciated.
