Joseph Palermo, 74, Former Bucks County State Constable

Joseph Andrew Palermo, 74, of Doylestown and Harrisburg, passed away on Thursday.

Joseph Andrew Palermo, 74, of Doylestown and Harrisburg, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Hershey Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Pamela (Hoover) Palermo.

He was born in Norristown on March 23, 1940, a son to the late Joseph and Constance Palermo. He worked as as an area supervisor in the Lehigh Valley office of the PA Lottery and State Constable, serving Bucks County. Joe enjoyed traveling, reading, and dining with friends. He was a loving husband who cared for his wife and family. He will be dearly missed.

In addition to his loving wife, Pamela, he is survived by his step-sons, Robert Mahady (Jill) of Nazareth, and Ryan Mahady (Heather) of Harrisburg; his grandson, Michael Joseph Maughan; 4 step-grandchildren, Todd, Kyle, Caitlin, and Aidan; and his brother, John Palermo of Doylestown. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Dorothy Kathryn.

Visitation will be Monday, April 21, 2014 from 10-11am at Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, Harrisburg, with a Memorial Service to celebrate his life beginning at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to Area M Special Olympics, P. O. Box 382, Summerdale, Pa 17093; or to the American Cancer Society, 2 Lemoyne Dr., Ste. 101, Lemoyne, PA 17043.
