Gloria S. Waid, 86, 'Proud and Loving Matriarch'

Gloria S. Waid of Doylestown died on May 19.

Gloria S. Waid of Doylestown died on May 19, 2014 peacefully in her home surrounded by her family.  She was 86 years old.  

Born in Union Beach, New Jersey, Gloria was the daughter of the late Harry and Matilda Barkley Stott Howells. She lived 30 years of her life in Feasterville  before moving to Doylestown.  

Gloria worked many years in retail for Woolworth's and was a member of both the Feasterville Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Doylestown.  She was the proud and loving matriarch of her family.   She is survived by her daughter: Nancy Cziriak (Werner); her son, Thomas Waid;  her five grandchildren: Steven Laphen (Amanda), Jeffrey Laphen (Heather), Bill Laphen (Eileen), Megan Cziriak, and Kurt Cziriak and her seven great-grandchildren: Emily, Liam and Isla Laphen, Sydney and  Morgan Laphen, and Katrina and Bridgette Pepin. 

Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m.,  Friday, May 23rd  at the Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.   Interment will follow in Lawnview Cemetery, Rockledge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gloria's name may be made to Doylestown Hospital Hospice, c/o Development Office, 595 West State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
