Elaine Gustavson Ewbank, 91, Former Doylestown Hospital Board Chair

Elaine Gustavson Ewbank died June 30, 2014 at Pennswood Village, Newtown, where she was a longtime resident. She was 91.

Born in Chicago, she and her husband, A. Thomas Ewbank, moved their family to Newtown in 1962. After his death in 1968, she became a trust officer in Philadelphia and Fort Lauderdale. After retiring, she became Treasurer of Doylestown Hospital then Chair of the Board from 1992 to 1996.

Elaine is survived by her son, Douglas Ewbank and his partner, Scott Ryder; and her daughters, Diane (Mrs. Ray H. Krauss) and Barbara (Mrs. Matthew Smith); as well as six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
