Catherine M. Hoban, 83, Member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church

Catherine M. Hoban (nee Quigley) of Doylestown, PA passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 in Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown. She was 83 years old.

Born in Delaware County, PA, on March 31, 1930 to the late Leon and Catherine Bryan Quigley, Catherine resided in Warrington, before moving to Doylestown in 1972.

Catherine graduated Collingdale High School and was a member of the State Championship Girls Basketball team. She would later receive a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Temple University and was employed throughout her life in the health care field. Catherine was employed as an x-ray tech with St. Marys and Pennsylvania Hospitals and would later become employed as a social worker with Fox Rehab. She enjoyed swimming, gardening and was an avid Phillies fan. Catherine was also a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church of Doylestown, the State Street Players, Pre CANA, church choir and bereavement committees within the church.

She is the beloved wife of 59 years to Francis J. Hoban, devoted mother of Kathleen Brehm and husband Edward, Patricia Hoban, Esq., Francis P. Hoban, Joseph Hoban, Thomas Leon Hoban, Joan Carney and husband Kevin, James Hoban and wife Andrea, dear sister of Helen McGroaty, loving grandmother of Eric, Kevin and Alyse Brehm, Kristen and James Enright, Sarah, Jeremy and Jordan Hoban, Daniel, Sean, Brigid and Brendan Hoban, Hoban Carney, Roarke and Serianna Hoban, cherished great-grandmother of Jaiden and Ethan Hoban.

Visitation will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Tuesday, January 28th from 6-8 pm and Wednesday, January 29th from 12:30 am -1:30 pm.

A funeral mass will follow at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 E. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Wednesday, January 29th at 2 pm.

Interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne, PA.
