Senior Center to Offer Vet ID Event

Veterans can come to the Central Bucks Senior Center for help applying for a new Bucks County Veterans ID Discount card.

 

The Central Bucks Senior Center in Doylestown will host an event next week to help area seniors sign up for the county's new Veterans ID Discount Card.

Launched in November 2011, the card program offers discounts for veterans at businesses across Bucks County.

More than 5,040 veterans across Bucks County have applied for the cards since the program began last year.

More than 230 Bucks County businesses have agreed to offer discounts of 5 to 20 percent on merchandise and services to those holding the Bucks County Veterans ID card. County officials say more businesses are signing up to participate each day.

The Recorder of Deeds staff will be available Friday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Central Bucks Senior Center on Shady Retreat Road. 

To be eligible, interested veterans must bring their original DD-214 form in order for the Recorder of Deeds staff to proceed with issuing the cards.
