Seminar Focuses On 'Living Green'

The event will include three presentations, a Q&A session and time for networking.

The Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce’s Architectural & Environmental Committee presents its 2012 spring environmental seminar, “Practical Apps for Living Green,” on Thursday, March 15, at Heritage Conservancy’s Aldie Mansion in Doylestown.

Doors open at 6:30 pm for networking and socializing; the program begins at 7  pm.

The 13th annual seminar is designed to appeal to an audience of homeowners interested in sustainable construction concepts as well as professionals in the fields of environmentally responsible architecture, construction, landscaping, zoning, materials and applications, and more. This year’s program features three presentations by noted regional experts:

  • “Where ‘Green’ Begins: Zoning & Planning” – J. Robert Hillier, FAIA, Studio Hillier, focusing on land-use strategies and execution
  • “Evaluating Sustainable Design” – Mark Janiczek, president, Janiczek Homes, a leader in “green” construction
  • “Passive House Design” – Laura A. Blau, AIA, & Paul A. Thompson, AIA, BluPath / GreenSteps, LEED-accredited designers and consultants

The program is free and open to the public and the evening will conclude with a Q&A session.
