Winter Wonderland Tours Now at Fonthill

And bring the children to Fonthill for an afternoon of free holiday festivities for the family on Sunday, Dec. 4 from noon to 4 p.m.

The castle home of Henry Mercer will be decked out for the holidays in preparation for a series of unique and captivating holiday tours planned to celebrate the season

The festivities kick off with the Winter Wonderland Holiday Decorations Tours on December 1, replacing the regular guided tours. 

Visitors will experience the wonder of , with tours that take them through Mercer’s home to see his elaborately tiled rooms dressed up with themed trees, Victorian decorations, and greens throughout.

Winter Wonderland Tours run until December 31. Reservations are recommended. Regular admission fees apply.

Bring the children to Fonthill Park for an afternoon of free Holiday Festivities for the Family on Sunday, December 4 from noon to 4 p.m. At Fonthill Castle, guests can sip hot cider, make a handmade ornament and wander through ground floor rooms including the Conservatory, Saloon, Library and Morning Room.

At the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works, guests can decorate the tree with their handmade ornament, and enjoy refreshments, holiday music, self-guided tours and a visit with Santa.

Fonthill Castle is lit up at night for Fonthill’s Holiday Lights Meander on Saturday, December 10, from 6:30-9:30 p.m.  A departure from the regular guided tours, the Meander allows guests to wander at their own pace through Fonthill’s spectacular castle to enjoy seasonal decorations, holiday music and light refreshments. Docents will also be on-hand to answer any visitor questions.

Arrival times for the tours are between 6:30 p.m. 8:30 p.m. Tours are $15 per person and registration is required.

Fonthill, Henry Mercer’s concrete castle home, boasts 44 rooms and 18 fireplaces. The interior walls, floors and ceilings are elaborately adorned with an incredible array of Mercer’s original handcrafted tiles. 

The National Historic Landmark has been featured on A&E’s “America’s Castles,” and in Martha Stewart Living Magazine.
