It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas in Doylestown

The Christmas Tree has been put up in the plaza, and the snowflakes have been mounted on the light posts.

Doylestown's Christmas Tree is up and waiting to be lit. The tree, which is located in the plaza by Starbucks, will be lit during a ceremony on Nov. 29.

The tree isn't the only indication that the holidays are here. Volunteers worked over the weekend to put snowflakes up on borough street lamp posts.

Next week's tree lighting, organized by the Doylestown Business and Community Alliance, will begin at 6 p.m. with a view of Santa riding from Central Bucks High School West. He'll be riding in an old-fashioned fire truck, accompanied by the high school's marching band.

The high school's choir will sing holiday songs in the courtyard by Starbucks. When Santa arrives, he will help countdown to the tree lighting. The lights will begin glowing at 6:30 p.m. There will be free cookies and cider.

Children will have a chance to meet Santa at his house on Hamilton and State streets.
