There will be a community event Wednesday in Doylestown Borough to mark the last full day of Hanukkah.
The event, a collaboration between Temple Judea of Bucks County and the Doylestown Business and Community Alliance, will feature a sing along and refreshments.
Rabbi Mitchell R. Delcau will lead the sing along with the Temple Judea band beginning at 7 p.m. at Hamilton and State streets. There will also be dreidels and Chanukah gelt (chocolate coins).
“This site is the home of the impressive dreidel commissioned by Doylestown Business and Community Alliance eight years ago,” event organizers said in a press release.
Hanukkah is a commemoration of the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem. “At the time of the rededication, though, there was only enough oil to light the Temple’s menorah for one night. Miraculously, however, the oil lasted for eight nights,” according to Temple Judea of Bucks County.
