Central Park Fireworks Postponed to July 7

A weekend forecast of thunderstorms forced the township to move the annual show to the following week.

A stormy weather forecast for this weekend compelled Doylestown Township Manager Stephanie Mason to postpone the Central Park Fourth of July fireworks show from June 30 to Sunday, July 7 at 7:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service predicts a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms for Sunday in Doylestown and the surrounding area.

The annual fireworks show is part of the township's Sounds of Summer concert series. On July 7, The Philly Party Band is scheduled to start the celebration by playing everything from disco to top 40 hits, followed by the "oohs and aahs" of the fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

The cost for the event is $5 per car. Another rain date, if necessary, has been scheduled for July 28.
