New BritainBorough Rededicates War Memorial The New Britain Borough Historic Preservation Committee will host a re-dedication ceremony of the H. Walter Harvey War Memorial on November 12, 2011 at 2:00 PM. We will gather at the memorial on S. Tamenend Avenue, on the grounds of the New Britain Baptist Church. Originally built to honor those who served in World War I, there-dedication is to all who have served the country in the armed forces. Mayor Holewinski is master of ceremony; a military color guard and bagpiper will enhance the ceremony. The Committee wishes to thank all who donated their financial and in-kind support. A complete list of contributors will be included in the dedication program, on the borough web site and in the spring edition of the borough newsletter.
