Bucks County Food Pantries Receive $15K Grant

Bucks County Digital Printing, located in Newtown, donated $15,000 to food pantries in Penndel, Doylestown and Milford Square.

The Bucks County Housing Group received a $15,000 grant from a Newtown business this week to support its three food pantries.

Bucks County Digital Printing, located in the Newtown Business Commons, directed its gift to BCHG pantries in Penndel, Doylestown and Milford Square.

“This is an extraordinarily generous gift,” said Melissa Mantz, BCHG Development Officer. “It will make a dramatic difference not only in stocking the pantries, but in paying the many bills associated with keeping them running.”

Bucks County Housing Group is a private, non-profit organization that provides housing and related social services to homeless and low-income families. Last year, the three food pantries served over 1,800 families per month.  According to Mantz, the need for food and meals continues to surge. “Last month, we served 100 families in Penndel just on a Thursday evening. That’s unprecedented for us,” she said.

Bucks Digital Printing is owned by Neal Carson, Bob Herion and Tom Berner.

“We don’t have the means to solve the biggest problems,” Herion said. “But we certainly can do something to help families around us who are hungry.”

Carson volunteers with his family at the food pantry in Doylestown. “We see how people right in our own community struggle every week to put food on the table for their families,” Carson said. “We are fortunate that our company can give something back to our neighbors.”

“Our employees, our customers, all of our friends here in Bucks County, are all partners in this community,” Berner said. “We know the food pantries will use this money to do the most good.”

Bucks Digital's services include Intelligent Marketing and Visual Communications through print, web, video and email media.
