Celebrate the return of the new season of "Downton Abbey" with
a musical program presented by Terri Evans, a former Miss Alabama who has
performed on Broadway. The Friends of
the Library Center of Doylestown present this multimedia program on Saturday
January 11, 2014 at 2 pm in the Pearl Buck room of the Doylestown branch of the
Bucks County Free Library, 150 South Pine Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. This program presents a compelling look at
the times and music of the Edwardian period, WWI and the Roaring Twenties,
leading up to WWII years. This musical performance
includes costumes and videos.
Terri Evans, former Miss Alabama/Miss America, has sung all
over the world, including Broadway (Music Man, A Joyful Noise, Day by Day,
Follies), opera and oratorio. Having
been a professor of voice and music/opera theater in many universities,
including NYU, her knowledge of musicals has given her insight into putting her
own shows together, such as “The Music of Downton Abbey.”
Terri’s musical right hand and husband is Marion Evans, a
world-renowned music arranger and composer.
He arranged for some of the top singers, including Judy Garland, Eydie
Gorme, Steve Lawrence, Tony Bennett and Lady GaGa.
