Holiday Greetings from Byers’ Choice!

This year we thought we’d celebrate Christmas in July the way they do “down under” where the normal holiday scenes of snowflakes and evergreens are turned on their head, since Christmas takes place in the middle of Australia’s summer vacation. On July 25th we’re hosting Christmas Aussie style, and we hope you will join us.

The celebrations begin on Friday the 25th with a family Christmas picnic. We’ll be cooking “chook” (Chicken) with all the fixins on the “barbie” (BBQ grill), so come with a hungry stomach! Be sure to buy your tickets ahead of time at www.byerschoice.com or by giving us a call at 215-822-6700.

That night, we’ll continue the festivities in the park with a free concert by Music 4 Nothin’. Join us at 7 p.m. to listen to the music and sing along to a carol or two as the sun sets and the Christmas lights go on. Don’t forget a blanket or lawn chair to sit on.

In keeping with another Aussie tradition we’ll spend Saturday, July 26th in the park with our family. Weather permitting, the Chalfont Fire Company will cover the ground in snowy foam for the children to play in, so be sure to bring a bathing suit. Later on, we’ll retire inside for a screening of Frosty the Snowman. And of course the day wouldn’t be complete without plenty of peppermint ice cream, Christmas cookies, games, and other activities.

Anyone looking to do a little “after Christmas” shopping can head over to the Byers’ Choice Emporium, where many Carolers, Christmas non-Christmas items will be on sale. Old Friends, raffles and other games will be part of the fun.
