Alzheimer's Support Group Helps Loved Ones and Caregivers Cope - Monthly meetings at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Doylestown

The Alzheimer’s Support Group of Doylestown will hold its November meeting on Tuesday,  November 19, at 7 p.m. in the Friendship Room at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 301 North Main Street, Doylestown. To RSVP call 215-262-0030 or email bmarte@2beshs.com. The Alzheimer’s Support Group meets on the third Tuesday of each month to provide emotional, educational, and social support for caregivers through regularly scheduled meetings.

“The discussions center on behavior changes of loved ones with Dementia/Alzheimer's and how one can manage these behaviors to maintain a safe environment for all,” said Barbara Marte, owner of Seniors Helping Seniors of Bucks County and the facilitator of the group. “The goal is to help participants develop ways to solve problems and to encourage caregivers to maintain their own health, while they are caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's or dementia.”

Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home services is a national caregiver and companionship organization and the only one that matches seniors who need in-home services with seniors who want to provide them. Seniors Helping Seniors® of Bucks County is one of more than 100 offices operating throughout the United States. The mission is to provide seniors with the ability to choose an independent lifestyle in their own homes, for as long as possible, with the dignity and respect they deserve, by finding dedicated, caring seniors to help each other.

If family members do not live close by or do not have the ability to provide the care that their loved ones require, Seniors Helping Seniors® services provide the assistance that will give distant family members assurance that their loved ones are receiving the support they need.

Seniors Helping Seniors® supports seniors and their family caregivers by matching them with people who will understand them the most - other seniors. Seniors Helping Seniors® Providers have the heart of a volunteer and understand the ups and downs of life. From that understanding, what begins as a Provider and Receiver relationship becomes a Friendship. Seniors Helping Seniors® Providers believe true joy lies within helping others.
