The Buckingham Township Civic Association is pleased to announce that on Oct. 22, candidates for the positions of Supervisor, Tax Collector and Auditor attended a forum called Meet the Candidates Night at which they answered questions posed by local citizens.
Dozens of Buckingham residents listened raptly to the replies, including two current Supervisors, Maggie Rash and Jon Forest, who will soon acquire a new colleague—either Republican Paul Calderaio or Democrat Michael Hutkin, both of whom pledged to continue working on the land preservation initiatives that have distinguished the township.
For the candidates who attended—Tax Collector candidates Lisa Ganzer (D) and Ann Calderaio (R), Auditor candidate Harry Veni (R), plus the men vying for Supervisor—the forum provided them with an opportunity to share their backgrounds and ideas. What they all shared in common was a love of community and a willingness to spend many hours working on behalf of their fellow citizens.
Civic Association President Jan Tompkins was delighted at the turnout and the opportunity that it gave Buckingham residents—including a number of CB East High School students—a real opportunity to meet the individuals seeking to represent them. She expressed gratitude to the candidates for their participation and thanks to the moderator, Dr. James Diamond, the past president of Delaware Valley College.
