Weekend Planner: March 10 & 11

Another weekend is here. Time to plan for some fun!

Why go: As part of the theater’s matinee program, bring the kids to a movie for just $4 each, or become a member of the theater and attend for free. This weekend’s movie – The Adventures of Milo and Otis.

Cost: $4, free for members

Where/when: AOY Art Center, 949 Mirror Lake Rd, Yardley, Saturday at noon.

Why go: The first event of the 2012 season will be held at the AOY Art Center, home to a variety of art shows and events throughout the year, as well as host to educational programs for children and adults. Juror Tricia Fagan selected 71 pieces of artwork in a variety of media out of 300 for this show. Fagan is Director of The Gallery at Mercer County Community College.

Why go: Get a jump on celebrating the wearin’ o’ the green!

Cost: Free

Where/when: , 25 Upper Holland Rd, Richboro, Saturday, 3 p.m.

Why go: Join this interactive educational program with historical reenactor, Michael Jesberger as he "enlists" you in the Union army. Learn what life was like on the march, in camp and in battle. Learn about and see the equipment and weapons used as well as the personal items of a "Yankee" soldier.

Where/when: , 599 Newtown Rd, Warminster, Sunday, noon.

Why go: The Craven Hall Historical Society presents a program on colonial herbal recipes used by early settlers to treat various ailments, using natural remedies in everyday places such as gardens or backyards.  The program, which is free, is included in Craven Hall’s monthly house tour and tour of the newly opened John Fitch Steamboat Museum. The Open House takes place from noon until 3:00 p.m.
