Stabbing Victim Remembered During Council Meeting

Monday's Borough Council meeting was adjourned in memory of George Mohr, who was killed July 3 after being stabbed near the Doylestown Train Station.

Doylestown Borough Council paid tribute to the community’s first murder victim in nearly 50 years as it adjourned its monthly meeting Monday. 

Council President Det Ansinn announced the meeting would be adjourned in memory of George Mohr, who was killed July 3 after being stabbed near the Doylestown Train Station.

Dale Wakefield, 21, has been charged in connection with Mohr’s death.

The stabbing was the first murder in the community in nearly 50 years, Ansinn said. “It was an event that shocked the community,” Ansinn said, commending the Doylestown Borough Police for their “great work” during the investigation.
