The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory, calling for 1 to 3 inches of snow to fall overnight.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Doylestown and the surrounding area, in effect from midnight tonight until 10 a.m. Monday.

The advisory calls for a "wintry mix of precipitation," beginning with snow around midnight and then changing over to sleet and rain early Monday morning.

Accumulations of 1 to 4 inches of snow and sleet are expected, with a glaze of freezing rain possible in the morning.

The Weather Service warns that this anticipated wintry mix has the potential to cause travel difficulties. The service advises drivers to be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities.

Overnight: Snow. Low around 29. Southeast wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Monday: Snow and sleet, possibly mixed with freezing rain before 11am, then rain, possibly mixed with sleet between 11am and 1pm, then a slight chance of rain after 1pm. High near 36. Southeast wind 6 to 13 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Monday Night: A chance of snow, mainly after 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20. North wind between 10 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 33. North wind between 10 and 13 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 15. North wind between 5 and 8 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 39.
