Road Work to Affect Travel This Week

Drivers will encounter delays on area roads this week, as construction on the Route 202 Parkway continues.

Drivers will encounter daytime lane closures this week, Sept. 26-30, on several roads in Bucks and Montgomery counties for construction of the Route 202 Parkway, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said recently.

County Line Road in New Britain and Montgomery townships will be reduced to a single lane between Stump and Upper State roads Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for drainage construction. County Line Road is being widened between Stump Road and Route 202 (Butler Avenue) to improve access to the Route 202 Parkway.

Drainage and intersection work will continue on Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) between Stump Road and Route 202 (Butler Avenue) in New Britain and Warrington townships, Bucks County on Monday through Friday (Sept. 26-30) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Construction also will take place on Upper State Road between County Line Road and Pickertown Road in New Britain and Warrington townships, Bucks County on Monday through Friday (Sept. 26-30) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In Doylestown Township, Wells Road remains detoured between Lower State and Turk roads, and Lower State Road remains closed to northbound traffic between Bristol and Almshouse roads for bridge construction.

In Montgomery County, lane restrictions may occur on Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) between Sumneytown Pike and Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) and on Route 63 (Welsh Road) between Stump Road and Bell Run Boulevard in Upper Gwynedd and Lower Gwynedd townships for utility and road construction Monday through Friday (Sept. 26-30) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Drivers should anticipate delays and add extra time for travel through the construction areas. All planned activities are contingent on the weather.

PennDOT is investing more than $200 million in state funds to build the nine-mile long Route 202 Parkway in Bucks and Montgomery counties and to improve roads approaching the Parkway’s entrances.
