Road Work to Affect Travel This Week

Motorists will encounter daytime lane restrictions this week, Sept. 6-9, on Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) in Montgomery County and on several roads in Bucks County for ongoing construction of the Route 202 Parkway, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.

In Warrington and New Britain townships, flaggers will be in place Tuesday through Friday to direct alternating single lanes through ongoing widening activities on

• Route 152 (Limekiln Pike), from Stump Road to north of Upper State Road, and
• Upper State Road, between Pickertown and County Line Roads for construction at the intersection with Route 152 (Limekiln Pike).

In Doylestown Township, Wells Road remains detoured between Lower State and Turk roads, and Lower State Road remains closed to northbound traffic between Bristol and Almshouse roads for bridge construction.

Route 202 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for paving milling between Route 63 (Welsh Road) and Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) in Montgomery Township Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Route 202 is being widened and improved for motorists approaching the Parkway’s southern terminus and its future entry point at Knapp Road.
 
In addition, flaggers again will direct an alternating single lane of traffic on County Line Road between Stump and Upper State roads in New Britain and Montgomery townships Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as installation of drainage pipes continues in that area.
 
Drivers also may find periodic lane closures in Upper and Lower Gwynedd townships, Montgomery County, for ongoing utility relocation and widening activities this week on Route 202, between Sumneytown Pike and Route 63 (Welsh Road), and on Route 63 between Stump Road and Bell Run Boulevard, located west of Route 202.

Drivers should anticipate delays and add extra time for travel through the construction areas. All planned activities are contingent on the weather.

PennDOT is investing more than $200 million in state funds to build the nine-mile long Route 202 Parkway in Bucks and Montgomery counties and to improve roads approaching the Parkway’s entrances.
