Road Work to Affect Travel This Week
Daytime Lane Closures on Route 202, Route 63 and County Line Road for Parkway Construction.
Motorists will encounter daytime travel restrictions on Route 202 (DeKalb Pike), Route 63 (Welsh Road) and County Line Road next week (Jan. 9-13) for Route 202 Parkway construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today.
Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) lane closures are scheduled from Swedesford Road through the intersection with Route 63 (Welsh Road) in Upper Gwynedd, Lower Gwynedd and Montgomery townships on Monday through Friday (Jan. 9-13) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road widening and curb construction.
Lane closures also may occur on Route 63 (Welsh Road) between Stump Road and Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) on Monday through Friday (Jan. 9-13) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the installation of drainage pipes and inlets.

Travel restrictions are scheduled on County Line Road between Route 202 (Butler Avenue) and Stump Road in Montgomery and New Britain townships on Monday through Friday (Jan. 9-13) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for drainage, utility and road widening operations.
In addition, Lower State Road will be closed in both directions between Bristol and Almshouse roads in Doylestown Township starting Monday (Jan. 9), for bridge construction unrelated to the Parkway. This travel restriction – which is located near the Parkway construction area – is an expansion of a partial detour that has been in place since Lower State Road was closed to southbound traffic only in April 2011. The new bridge is expected to open in Dec. 2012.

Pickertown Road in Warrington Township also remains closed and detoured between Stump and Upper State roads until mid-2012 for construction of a bridge over the Parkway.
Drivers should anticipate delays and add extra time for travel through the construction areas. All planned activities are contingent on the weather.
PennDOT is investing more than $200 million in state funds to build the nine-mile long Route 202 Parkway in Bucks and Montgomery counties and to improve roads approaching the Parkway’s entrances.
