Road Work to Affect Travel This Week

Wells Road has been reopened, but several other area roads still are affected by construction of the Route 202 Parkway.

Motorists will encounter daytime lane closures this week on Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) in Montgomery County and on several Bucks County roads for construction of the Route 202 Parkway, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said recently.

Drivers in New Britain and Montgomery townships will find County Line Road reduced to a single lane between Stump and Upper State roads Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for drainage construction.

In New Britain and Warrington townships, Bucks County, construction will reduce Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) to a single lane Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Stump Road and Route 202 (Butler Avenue).

Construction to widen two intersections will result in intermittent lane closures on Upper State Road approaching Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) and on Upper State Road approaching Bristol Road on Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Intermittent lane restrictions also will be in place on Bristol Road at the intersection during the same hours.

Wells Road in Doylestown Township reopened to through traffic between Lower State and Turk roads on Oct. 5, but a nearby section of Lower State Road remains closed to northbound traffic between Bristol and Almshouse roads for bridge construction.

Daytime single-lane patterns will be in place on Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) between Sumneytown Pike and Route 63 (Welsh Road) in Upper and Lower Gwynedd townships, Monday through Friday, Oct. 10-14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility relocation and sound wall construction.

Motorists in that area also may encounter periodic lane closures on Route 63 (Welsh Road) between Stump Road and Bell Run Boulevard for utility relocation and road widening work Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Drivers should anticipate delays and add extra time for travel through the construction areas. All planned activities are contingent on the weather.

PennDOT is investing more than $200 million in state funds to build the nine-mile long Route 202 Parkway in Bucks and Montgomery counties and to improve roads approaching the Parkway’s entrances.
