Regional Roundup: Medical Investigator Still on Road After 2 DUIs

A Montgomery County commissioner was arrested and the approval process for a major development project in Newtown Borough is about to begin.

Here are some highlights from area Patches.

: Rachel Rymann's blood-alcohol levels were 0.24 and 0.32 percent following DUI arrests in May 2010 and November 2011. She continues to operate vehicles owned by the county coroner's office.

: Commissioner James Matthews was arrested and charged with perjury and false sweating. The charges carry up to nine years in jail.

: Newtown Borough Council will hold a conditional use hearing for a mixed-use project that would feature residential, retail and a two-deck parking garage off South State Street.

: Region Two Representative Andrew Pollock was once again named president of the Centennial School Board of Directors during the board's annual  Pollock, who has held the board's chief executive cabinet position since 2010, was narrowly re-elected to the post in a 5-4 vote.

: The Neshaminy School Board reorganized Monday evening in addition to new and re-elected members being sworn in. Ritchie Webb remains the board president.

: The Central Bucks School Board on Monday unanimously re-elected Paul Faulkner as board president and Geri McMullin as vice president after a Bucks County Court judge swore in six newly elected school directors.

: Representatives from the utility said more work will happen after the holidays.

: The current plan has a $52 tax hike. The borough council plans to adopt its 2012 spending plan on Dec. 19 and more cuts could be made before then, officials said.

: If attendance at Monday’s township budget hearing is any indication, Bensalem residents aren’t very concerned about losing $200. There were a little more than a handful of residents at the meeting.
