Buck Elementary School in Middletown on Monday, New Jersey Army National Guard Sergeant. 1st Class Shawna Frey, whose daughter attends the school, stood silently across the street in her military battle dress uniform holding a homemade sign that read, “What if we strike.”

: Pennsylvania legislators introduced bills in 2011 to prohibit teacher strikes. A representative from the PSEA says strikes are a last resort necessary to ensure fair compensation.

: In the woods off Ash Circle in the Warminster Heights section of the township Tuesday afternoon, a fire ripped through a structure that was inhabited by a homeless person, and the cause remains under investigation, authorities report.
