: Gov. Tom Corbett has designated the week of June 3 to June 9 as Amusement Ride Safety Week. While Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in South Whitehall offers an assortment of coasters and rides, amusement rides also are a staple at community fairs throughout the area.

: What factors contribute to kids trying, and in some cases, abusing drugs and alcohol? Hatboro-Horsham School District officials are striving to find answers that may help steer future generations of students away from using drugs.

: The Council Rock School Board weighed in on the tentative three-year agreements the district has reached with its teachers and support staff. The reactions were mostly positive. “I’ve never seen teachers of any bargaining group give up what these teachers gave up,” said board member Patty Sexton, who has worked as a teacher in public education for many years.

: Sad news out of Boston today: Tom and Ray Magliozzi, also know as Click and Clack or the Tappet Brothers, are calling it quits, the Associated Press reports. Their weekly NPR radio show "Car Talk" will continue to air in reruns, but no new episodes will be produced.

:  If picked to be new superintendent of the Neshaminy School District, Dr. William Gretzula said he would hope to move the focus in the district from “labor contracts to learning.”

 :  Bensalem police arrested Virginia Marquardt, 65, of the 1800 block of Badger Road. She was charged with theft by deception, theft by failing to make required disposition of funds and related offenses for allegedly stealing over $300,000 from her neighbor.
