Power to be Turned Off in Doylestown Overnight

PECO plans to shut off the power for about four hours early Wednesday morning.

PECO plans to turn off electric service to part of Doylestown Borough for about four hours early Wednesday morning.

The "planned service interruption" is necessary so the company can do some work on the electric lines.

The power is expected to be shut off from about 2 a.m. to about 6 a.m. Wednesday, the company said Tuesday.

Customers to be affected are mostly on North and South Main Street in the downtown area, borough officials said Tuesday. Those whose power is to be interrupted already should have been notified by letter and door hanger from PECO, they said.

Anyone who is located on or near Main Street in the downtown area who has not received notice of the outage is asked to contact Doylestown borough manager John Davis at jdavis@doylestownborough.net for clarification.

While the power is off, PECO workers will transfer customers' individual services to a new cable that has been installed in Main Street.
