'Nemo' Could Bring 6 to 12 Inches of Snow

Winter Storm "Nemo" could bring 6 to 12 inches of snow to the Doylestown area Friday and Saturday.

The latest forecast from the National Weather Service predicts that light snow will start after 2 a.m. on Friday. Snow and rain is expected throughout Friday before switching to all snow after about 4 p.m. Snow accumulation is expected to reach 1 to 3 inches on Friday, then another 5 to 9 inches overnight Friday into Saturday.

That is a radical change from Thursday's forecast, which predicted far less snow for the Central Bucks County area.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for southeast Pennsylvania, including the Doylestown area at 3:20 p.m. on Thursday, predicting 4 to 8 inches of snow, with a trace of ice.

The updated warning issued at 9:42 p.m. bumped that estimate up to 4 to 10 inches.

That winter storm warning goes into effect at 3 p.m. on Friday and lasts until 6 a.m. on Saturday.

The timing of the storm is likely to make Friday evening's commute hazardous, the weather service said.

By dawn on Saturday, the snow is expected to taper off into flurries before the sun comes out. Saturday afternoon likely will be blustery and cold, but clear.

So, what's it going to be? Who knows.
