This weekend marks the unofficial end of summer, but that doesn't mean the fun should stop. If you don’t have shore plans this weekend, check out these local events. Enjoy the summer weather while you can - the cold will be here soon.

First Friday Doylestown

Where/When: Downtown Doylestown.  Fri. 6-9:30pm

Why Go: Come to First Friday Doylestown for fun and festive music and entertainment. Merchants are open late to exhibit work from local artists and invite you to enjoy the sounds of local musicians. So bring your family and invite your friends... for art's sake.

The 46th Annual Polish-American Family Festival and Country Fair

Where/When: National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa, 654 Ferry Rd, Doylestown. Sat, Sun & Mon 12-8pm

Why Go: You don't have to be Polish to enjoy the festival, you just have to enjoy good times and fun. The festival is a celebration of Polish culture, heritage and traditions.

Pricing:  $10 Admission, free parking; admission includes entrance to all entertainment, exhibits and events.

 

Where/When: , 56 S Main St, Doylestown. Sat 10-2pm

Why Go: Open chess play for all ages and abilities. Director John Connelly will coach novice players. Chess sets available.

Friday Night Fireworks

Where/When: Downtown New Hope. Fri 9:30 pm

Why Go: Friday night fireworks displays over the Delaware River make a great start for a long weekend.

Pricing: Free

 

Comedy Competition of Champions Night

Where/When: , 625 N Main St, Doylestown. Sat 9 pm

Why Go:  This is one of Comedy Cabaret’s favorite nights featuring previous winners of comedy competitions as four Philly region comedians vie for your laughs and votes and ultimate bragging rights as champ. 

Pricing:  $20
