Christmas is Coming to Aldie Mansion

Heritage Conservancy's black-tie gala fundraiser is set for Dec. 4.

The annual black-tie gala Christmas for Aldie is scheduled for Sunday, December 4th, Heritage Conservancy announced Friday.

The event will take place at at 85 Old Dublin Pike in Doylestown. Historic Aldie Mansion is the headquarters of the Conservancy, whose mission for more than 50 years has been to protect and preserve this region’s natural and historic heritage.

Once the private home of William and Martha Mercer, Aldie is an English Tudor Revival mansion, complete with gargoyles, vintage leaded glass windows and intricate brickwork.

Aldie Mansion’s survival throughout the years is the result of a cooperative effort at preservation. Proceeds donated at this year's Christmas for Aldie fundraiser will further the Conservancy’s preservation mission and assist with the upkeep and ongoing renovations of the mansion.

Thus, the Conservancy changed the name of its annual event from Christmas at Aldie to Christmas for Aldie.

“Historic buildings and structures like Aldie Mansion help define our culture and heritage,” said Linda Cacossa, Heritage Conservancy’s Chief Operating Officer. “They add character to our surroundings, create sustainable and vibrant places to live, and add to this area's intrinsic feeling of belonging and permanence.”

“We are thankful for the generosity of our sponsors and donors,” added Robin Folkerts, Vice President of Development for the Conservancy. “This event affords our guests an opportunity to commemorate our recent successes with people who share a mutual passion for land conservation and historic preservation in an inspiring setting.”

Aldie Mansion will be adorned in seasonal splendor as over 200 supporters and friends of the Conservancy come together at this black tie optional event for cocktails, dinner catered by Max Hansen, a live auction, and festive holiday entertainment provided by the choir from Central Bucks High School South.

Sponsors and auction items can be viewed online at www.Heritageconservancy.org.
