Doylestown Tigers Present Legion With Championship Trophies

The 2012 Pennsylvania Legion Baseball Champions, the Doylestown Tigers, presented their wining trophies to its hometown American Legion Post #210.

Monday was a very proud night. The 2012 Pennsylvania Legion Baseball Champions, the Doylestown Tigers, presented their winning trophies to their hometown American Legion Post #210.

Many of Post #210 members were present for their regular meeting, but were soon joined but the young men and coaches of the Doylestown Tigers baseball team.

A proud head coach, Steve Ruane, spoke highly of the team's accomplishments; winning the Bux-Mont Legion Series, the Region 2 Tournament and this past weekend's Pennsylvania State Championship.  He talked about the integrity, persistence and determination the team continues to show game after game and the incredible teamwork they bring to the field every time.

As the array of trophies and plaques were presented, applause for the team and their accomplishments was heard throughout the hall.  And, the smiles on the faces of the veterans there said, "well done," to the team that represented them in the past few months.

Shortly after the trophies were presented, state Rep. Marguerite Quin shared her thoughts of the team and how proud she and all of Doylestown were of them.  She gave the Legion Hall and the team a State of Pennsylvania flag to fly in honor of the team's recent endeavors and their quest to become a national champion.

The Tigers head to West Lawn, PA, on Thursday to start competition in the Mid-Atlantic Legion Baseball Tournament. And, if they continue to play great baseball the way they have the past few weeks, we can only imagine how proud we'll be of this team as they represent both Doylestown, the State of Pennsylvania and American Legion Post #210.
