Central Bucks Family YMCA was recognized as an Afterschool Champion award recipient by the PA Statewide Afterschool/Youth Development Network. They were nominated by David John, executive director of the PA State Alliance of YMCA’s.
The award was presented at their Afterschool Advocacy Day 2014 in Harrisburg. Attendees included advocates, parents, program providers, youth, faith-based leaders and business leaders from across the state who gathered to highlight the importance of afterschool programs in Pennsylvania.
Receiving the award on behalf of Central Bucks Family YMCA was Mr. Pat Kelly, teen specialist at the Y who works most directly with older youth programming in Doylestown. “We’re thrilled that our work in Bucks County was recognized in this way. Thanks to the PA Statewide Afterschool/Youth Development Network,” said Kelly.
