MLK Day of Service celebrated at Y with three key events

Central Bucks Family YMCA provided volunteer opportunities throughout the day on Martin Luther King Day of Service to benefit other local non-profit agencies within the Bucks County community.

In the Y Teen Center, volunteers of all ages packed personal hygiene bags for use at Bucks County Housing Group emergency shelters. Volunteers also made cards to send to U.S. Military in conjunction with the Travis Manion Foundation.

Teen and adult volunteers cleaned and painted a large hallway and conference room at Tabor Children’s Services during the afternoon hours on February 20. Y Teen Leaders served lunch to residents and presented a program about Dr. King at Pine Run Lakeview Assisted Living.

The Y wishes to thank everyone who supported the volunteer efforts on MLK Day and reminds the community that volunteer opportunities are available year-round through the Y’s volunteer service program.
