Central Bucks Family YMCA Appoints Josh Tyler as Senior Director of Membership Development

Central Bucks Family YMCA announced recently that Josh Tyler is their new senior director of membership development. The CBF YMCA is one of the county’s largest nonprofit organizations with a focus on healthy living, youth development and social responsibility.

“What truly inspires me most about Josh is his engaging, enthusiastic personality,” said Tricia Feinthel, chief operating officer at the Y. “He will provide leadership to the areas of membership retention, development, Welcome Center operations, and Child Watch. We are eager for Josh to begin!”

Tyler, a native of Montgomery County, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, before being drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers and ultimately playing nine years for the Brewers and San Francisco Giants minor league baseball organizations.

Most recently, he served as director of operations for Big Leagues Academy, an indoor training facility in Newtown. Tyler also owned a fitness facility called Fitlife which he sold recently after 13 years of ownership. During his tenure with Fitlife, he worked closely with the Eileen Stein Jacoby Fund on their annual FitLife “FitThon for a Cure”, which brings together high school and college students to participate in a variety of fitness activities to raise money for breast cancer research at Fox Chase Cancer Center and raised $48,000 in 2013. He facilitated a ground-breaking personal training program for individuals with Autism in conjunction with the Autism Cares organization and partnered with Calkins Media (formerly Phillyburbs) in their annual “Thinner Takes All” competition.

In his new role at The Y, Tyler hopes to take his passion for fitness and people even further. He plans tocontinue the positive direction the Doylestown facility has taken in recent years, developing a sense of community and living the Y mission.  Tyler resides in Newtown with his wife and two children.
