Spark Nonprofit Consulting Teams Up with Pitch In For Baseball

--  Kathleen Welsh Beveridge, president of Spark Nonprofit Consulting, has been engaged by Pitch In For Baseball (PIFB) to plan and facilitate a board retreat and strategic planning session in October. The purpose of the meeting was to set a course for the successful future of the organization, by selecting and prioritizing strategies that will lead to exciting opportunities for PIFB.

The organization based in Harleysville, PA, collects gently-used baseball equipment and distributes it to underserved communities in the U.S. and around the world. Learn more at www.pifb.org.

Beveridge’s two sons (ages 14 and 12) have played baseball for years. “They have loved the sport, and I’ve loved what they’ve learned about being part of a team,” she says.

I worked with Kathy previously, am a fan of her approach, and thought she would be a great person to help Pitch In For Baseball (PIFB) begin the organization’s first ever strategic planning process,” says  Meredith Kim, PIFB Director of Development

“Over the past eight years, PIFB has experienced consistent growth in equipment donations, funding, and distribution of equipment.  The recent expansion of the PIFB Board, larger-scale experiences in providing disaster relief, and the resulting media exposure were indicators to the Board that PIFB is well positioned to significantly contribute to the growth of the game and youth development for children around the world.  We just needed to someone to help us organize all of the thoughts and ideas into a concise format.”

About Pitch in For Baseball

Founded in 2005, Pitch In For Baseball provides new and gently used baseball and softball equipment to boys and girls in the United States and around the world who want to play ball but lack the equipment to do so.  We are the proven leaders in collecting and redistributing equipment resources to communities and organizations in need.  PIFB advances our mission of providing baseball and softball equipment to increase access to the game by serving under-resourced children ages 5-18 in communities in the United States and around the world.

PIFB has distributed more than $3 million worth of equipment to more than 200,000 children in more than 75 countries worldwide and nearly every state domestically.  Pitch In For Baseball is considered the go-to organization for equipment collection and redistribution, a designation reinforced by our exclusive position as the official equipment donation partner of Little League Baseball International, USA Baseball, and Major League Baseball’s RBI program.
