Fred Beans Family of Dealerships joins ranks of CB Family YMCA Corporate Partners

The Fred Beans Family of Dealerships’ name, long seen on plaques, tee shirts and a sign or two around Central Bucks Family YMCA, now holds a place of prominence as a leading contributor to the Y’s Community Support Campaign.

The North Easton Road-based automotive sales, service and parts business recently joined the ranks of the local YMCA’s two-year-old Corporate Partnership program, stepping in at the top – the Visionary $10,000 level.

The Y sees this as a natural fit for the philanthropic Beans family. Fred Beans, president and founder, and his eldest daughter, Beth Beans Gilbert, vice president, have frequently shown their personal and corporate support for the Y and its initiatives. For years the family has contributed to capital campaigns and sponsored the annual 5K & Family Fun Run. In 2003 the family gave the Y a children’s playground that is a magnet for families every day throughout the year.

“Beth and Zane [Moore, president/CEO of the Y] have the same vision for the youth of our community,” says Bess Godin, senior director of Mission Advancement. “They see the future in our young people and want to work together to build a strong and healthy community.”

The Corporate Partnership program is designed to bring on board those organizations most interested in connecting with the YMCA’s mission and investing in the community. Each partner chooses one of the three mission-focus areas: healthy living, social responsibility and youth development.

“My personal passion, and the one my father and sisters share, is children,” says Beth Gilbert. “So we chose youth development and are focusing on the Y’s exceptional summer camp program.”

The Y’s Camp Takoda offers experiences that range from preschool, day and 17 sports camps to specialty camps in art, drama, craft, dance and teen leadership. They attract several hundred young people each summer. Most camps are held at the Doylestown Township campus at the corner of Lower State Road and Memorial Drive.

In addition, Fred Beans was an “elite sponsor” for the YMCA Kids’ Triathlon held Sunday, August 4, a popular annual family event that involves ages 3 through 14 in swimming, running/walking and biking.

Central Bucks Family YMCA offers corporate partnerships at five levels of investment: Visionary ($10,000), Premiere ($5,000), Champion ($2,500), Investor ($1,000) and Benefactor ($500).
