New 'Discover Doylestown' Initiative to Begin With Launch Party

The "Discover Doylestown" brand initiative launch party will be held Thursday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

A new initiative to “Discover Doylestown” will officially launch Thursday with a party.

The Doylestown Business and Community alliance along with local businesses are hosting the “Discover Doylestown” brand initiative launch party Thursday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Standard Club. The event is sponsored by Monument Bank.

“The initiative was developed by members of the DBCA’s Discover Doylestown Committee to support local businesses, drive economic and entrepreneurial growth, promote tourism and share the unique character of this town to a greater audience,” according to an event announcement.

As part of the initiative, a Discover Doylestown website has been created to provide features on local businesses, a directory of shops and services, the history of Doylestown, community events and a link to an Etsy shop for visitors to purchase Doylestown branded merchandise.

You can visit the website at: http://www.discoverdoylestown.org.

“This is a really exciting time for our town,” said Mike Kendrick, president of the Doylestown Business and Community Alliance.  “This new ‘Discover Doylestown’ brand unites our initiatives to promote Doylestown for the greater benefit of our business owners, residents and any one who has close ties to this community.  We all know it’s a special place, now it’s time to share Doylestown’s uniqueness with a vast new audience.”

“The importance of this re-branding is that it directly supports our hard-working merchants and business owners,” said Krista Sherkey, DBCA board member and president of Streamline6 Communications.  “All funds raised at this event will directly benefit the businesses and merchants of the Discover Doylestown committee to collectively market Doylestown.

During the event, the winner of the month-long “Drink of Doylestown” Contest will be unveiled and food samplings will be served from various local restaurants as a preview to April’s Restaurant Week.
