Hospital Retains Search Firm

Doylestown Hospital CEO Richard Reif is stepping down and the search to replace him is underway.

The search is underway for a new CEO to lead Doylestown Hospital through the next phase of its growth.

The hospital has retained executive search firm B. E. Smith to lead the hunt for its new leader, according to an announcement from the company.

In describing the hospital, the firm describes its founding in 1923 by the Village Improvement Association, Doylestown's leading women's organization.

"The governance of the organization is provided by the V.I.A. who are involved, central figures," the job description reads. "The CEO will continue to set the example by working collaboratively with each stakeholder, to assure the highest level of services are offered to the community and provided with the highest level of caring. Quality and patient safety are first and foremost."

Besides the 247-bed hospital, the V.I.A. Health System also includes the Cancer Center, the Health and Wellness Center in Warrington, the Doylestown Surgery Center and Pine Run Community, with retirement living on Ferry Road in Doylestown Township and personal care living at in Doylestown.

In June, Doylestown Hospital announced that CEO Richard Reif would retire this year after 23 years at the helm.
