Giant to Close Area Supermarket

The Warrington location will close in less than a month, Giant announced Friday.

Giant on Easton Road in Warrington will close in less than a month, a company spokesperson said Friday.

According to the company, the store will close on Nov. 2.

“This difficult decision comes as part of our ongoing assessment of our store fleet and our goal of ensuring we have the right number of stores to serve customers in the greater Philadelphia market with convenient locations and great service,” said Rick Herring, company president.

Giant acquired the store from Safeway in 2010. Giant also has locations in Doylestown, New Britain, Jamison and Warminster.

The chain, which operates 20 stores in Bucks County, is opening a store in Flourtown and in Newtown Square before the end of the year.
